Welcome to EMDTPPEMD is the Emergency Management Department which is a department of Tai Poutini Polytechnic, based in Palmerston North, Central North Island.The Emergency Management Department manages the Emergency Management, Rural Fire, and Land Search and Rescue programmes for Tai Poutini Polytechnic. The department is based in Palmerston North and is the premier national training provider for emergency management and technical rescue. We deliver over 150 courses throughout New Zealand each year to over 3,000 students. Since November 2005 we have delivered training throughout New Zealand, and we have been involved in projects in Indonesia, Nepal, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Thailand, Republic of Marshall Islands, British Columbia, United Arab Emirates and the United States of America – making us one of the most globally experienced emergency management institutions in New Zealand. We only use emergency management professionals with real operational experience in civil defence emergency management situations. Preparing today for whatever tomorrow holds. |
